The themes in my artwork
I like to think of my artwork as whimsical yet tangible. For me, whimsical means something that when you see or hear it, it makes you smile. My "Fireflies at Dusk" painting is one example of a portrayal of whimsy. Perhaps you tried, or still do like to try, and catch fireflies in a Mason jar, after the sun just went down on a mid-June evening.
I am a sincere lover of all animals, including sock monkeys. Much of my work has animals (cats, dogs, honeybees, sock monkeys) featured in it. In fact, the word "Pishi" (pronouned "pee-shee") is the Farsi/Persian word for "kitty." I have four "pishies" of my own and they are always involved in my artwork. So, I thought it was only relevant to name my studio after them.
